I'm Shannon Widdis (she/her), a Queer multidisciplinary artist based in Toronto. My artistic journey began early, from specialized Performing Arts Programs to delving into circus arts. Now, my focus lies on visual art and design.
Currently, I'm navigating the Advertising and Marketing Communications industry completing a program at Humber College. Before that, I explored Art, Performance, and Cinema Studies at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, BC, developing skills in production design, filmmaking, and art history.
I am still on a journey of understanding myself and what path I would like to take post-graduation, but ultimately, I would like to become an art director working with non-profits. I strive to build community and create connections, especially in the art sector, so it's important to me that I continue working in the arts. I aim to amplify marginalized voices and promote inclusivity in all my endeavours.
More personally, I love Hilma Af Klint's work and find her story very intriguing and mysterious. I teach dance and love to work with youth performers in anyway I can. When I'm not working or in school, you'll find me watercoloring, collaging, choreographing youth musicals, or giving myself impromptu haircuts.
